Because Your Love is better than life, my lips will glorify Your Name...psalm 63:3
elements of Eternity…

elements of Eternity…

When I went to pick kids up from school today, a newly decorated wall with the kids work caught my attention…

Austyn, the author, had written out her description.  Penciled in answers from questions that are interesting to know about our little author…

If you could go anywhere in the world                         …”I would go to heaven, so I could see my brother.”

Me too.  Eternity forever in all of our hearts.  Now if we can continue to faithfully make it through the rest of our time on earth.

He has made everything suited to its time; also, he has given human beings an awareness of eternity; but in such a way that they can’t fully comprehend, from beginning to end, the things God does.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11

I’ve often imagined over the last year about the work of the Savior and if heaven celebrates alongside the saints that still remain in the broken world…I’ve given my mind freedom to think that it does, irresponsible as it may be…I envision the most glorious of instruments, the most resounding of praises that flow from the saints gone home.  I imagine the faces of delight that shine as Jesus lives among them.  I imagine the depth of understanding that each saint is rewarded.  I’m amazed that they see in full, they experience the abundance of life that we only have small tastes of.  I envision the King…I envision my son rejoicing with songs that only those gone before us can sing and understand.  I imagine the gravity of His sacrifice is fully received as each saint realizes it is only now that they live.  I imagine that the weight of the Father presses on each of them and they exude His glory.  I imagine that the wounds Jesus bears are touched by My Tyler (His Tyler), and the fullness of God’s grace is known and he finds only completion through Him.

It is no wonder for those who believe in Jesus and His tremendous sacrifice on the cross why Paul writes,

“… to live is Christ and to die is gain.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:21

As we enter the season of celebrating the resurrected King, I challenge you to have the mindset of Eternity to become part of your daily living.  How differently would you live if you daily set your mind on the work of the cross and the power of the resurrection?  I can maybe guess; the things you value that don’t have breath wouldn’t seem as important; the things you accumulate would almost seem ridiculous; the significant dates and events planned out would cause you to re-evaluate what you hold dear in this world. But mostly, you would become infatuated by the story of God.  You would marvel at the depth of sacrifice He endured on your behalf.  You would more often than not find yourself weeping as you are given small glimpses of His glory both now and eternity waiting.  You would live your days bringing the “hallelujah” of praise and seeking to know and desire more of His unending love and sufficient grace.

“I value all things only by the price they shall gain in eternity.” –John Wesley
